I have lived in the Wimbledon area since I was 13, so feel I know the area quite well and feel very happy here. Having worked for the NFWI for the past 2 years, I have seen what a wonderful organisation the WI is and how it has given opportunities to so many women, so I hope my enthusiasm for the WI shows through. In my spare time, I enjoy the gym, working on the allotment, the garden, reading and spending time with my family, especially our new grandson Billy. |

I have lived in Wimbledon since 1972 and have been working at the National Federation of Women's Institutes for the last 7 years, so joining Wimbledon WI is a little like a 'busman's holiday' for me! My passions are ski-ing, walking, travel and all forms of live entertainment; music dance and theatre. I enjoy new challenges and feel sure that the WI will provide plenty of opportunities for these, as well as helping us all to play an active part in our local community. |

Although I have lived in Wimbledon with my family for over 20 years, my early life included time living in Zimbabwe, Northern Ireland and Malaysia. I trained as a nurse and midwife, and was a ward sister in a London hospital before deciding to devote my time to my own three children. Now that my family are grown up, I am busy with local charities and craft groups, and have joined the Wimbledon WI to engage more fully with the local community and to explore new interests. |

I am married with four grown up children. I was a home economics teacher then started up my own cookery school for adults. I became an examiner for the City and Guilds and an inspector for home economics at the technical schools. When I retired I travelled extensively and bought a property in France. My hobies are golf, badminton and bridge. I am a friend of the R.A. and also enjoy talks at NADFAS. |

I had a career in insurance and then publishing. After having a family I went into catering and worked for the Wimbledon Guild as Head Chef for over 16 years, cooking for Rosemary Lodge and the Guild Day Centre. I retired in 2007 and am now trying to set up a Lets Cook project with other members of the WI |

I first moved to Wimbledon in 1954 with my parents who then took me off to Tanzania before sending me to school in NE England. As a student in the 70’s I returned to the area and, following a few years living in SE London, have now lived in the Wimbledon area with my family since 1976. I have worked as a teacher and Headteacher and currently work as a consultant Headteacher for the local authority. I am also and OFSTED inspector. In my spare time I enjoy theatre, film, reading , cryptic crosswords, gardening and grandchildren. I joined the WI because of its history of campaigning on a variety of important social issues. |

I first moved to Wimbledon in 1980, and have stayed within the area ever since. My daughters both attended local schools, and I was involved in the PTA for the duration!

I’ve lived in the area for 26 years. I work as a liaison librarian at a local University College. My children are now at the age where they don’t need me to be around so much, so I joined the WI in order to discover some more interests and to meet new people. I chose Wimbledon WI as it is a new and modern WI. I’m enjoying being a member of the book club and the wine group.
