Sixty nine Wimbledon WI members were present to take part in our Campaign Evening and from feedback received, many ideas were formulated from the group discussions. Bring & Buy Sale

Following last month’s Bring & Buy Sale, a big Thank You for the cheque for £196.07 handed over at the meeting.The Chief Executive, Barbara Price was thrilled and delighted by the support from Wimbledon WI.

Some members have shown interest in volunteering, and if anyone is interested in helping they can contact Sue Barrett Volunteer Services Co ordinator or Sally Aitkin-Davies*

Wimbledon Village Fair/Jam Making

Our main fund raising event again this year will be our stall at the Wimbledon Village Fair in June and in preparation for this, a further Jam Making Day has been arranged for Saturday April 24th at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross School in New Malden. Sixteen places are available on a first come, first served basis, so if you were not at the meeting this month and would like to sign up for this, please contact our Secretary, Lesley Challacombe at wi.secretary@goooglemail.com. It’s a fun day and a good way to get to know your fellow members.

Surrey News

All members received this free during our first year. From April 2010 we will have to pay to receive copies of this magazine, which gives information on events happening in the Surrey area e.g. craft days, public affairs days etc. the cost will be £3.00 for 12 issues. A sign up sheet was available at our meeting, but if you missed it and would like to subscribe, please email Lesley at wi.secretary@googlemail.com

Social Committee

This committee met for the first time this month and the following outings have been organised:

Wednesday May 12: Tour of Royal Hospital Chelsea. Tickets in the region of £1.50 - £2.00 depending on numbers.
Tuesday June 8: Royal Hospital Chelsea Founders Day Rehearsal. Free entrance. Event starts at 10a.m. and lasts about an hour.

International Women’s Day

'JOIN ME ON THE BRIDGE' celebrate International Women's Day on MARCH 8th by meeting in the car park in Morden Hall Park at 11 am and then walk to the pretty bridge then back to the National Trust Cafe for a cup of tea! 
 
Wear something white to represent peace. See the NFWI website details for the celebration on the Millennium Bridge if you are working in London.

Theatre Visit

Could all members who ordered tickets for "Dinner Ladies" at Wimbledon Theatre please remember to bring their cheque for £19.00 made payable to M.J. Cannon to the March meeting. If any member wishes to order a ticket, please email Joan Cannon urgently*

Golf Days

For those of you who play golf, we have arranged a game on Friday 23rd April at Wimbledon Park Golf Club at 10 am and if this is a success, further games will be arranged. To find out more, please contact Lesley at wi.secretary@googlemail.com

Bridge Club

We are trying to get a Bridge Club going for experienced bridge players. If you are interested in joining this group, please send your name to Lesley at the above email address.

Bridge for Beginners

Following the meeting last night, it is evident that there is a need for a beginners group to be formed. If you would like to know more about this, please send your details to Lesley.

March Meeting - Relaxation & Stress Management

Hazel Bate will be telling us how to cope with "stress" in a way that will leave us feeling invigorated instead of drained, so do come along and discover the answer to this modern day problem!
