Free Courses to help manage Long-term Health Conditions & also for Carers
The Expert Patients Programme is a self-management course giving people the confidence, skills and knowledge to manage their long-term illness better and be more in control of their lives.
It is free and run over six weekly sessions with each session lasting two-and-a-half hours. It is run throughout the United Kingdom within most local Health Authorities.
Condition specific courses are available in some areas:
- Persistent Pain Programme
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Breathlessness
- New Beginnings is for those living with or recovering from a mental health condition.
- SAM course for people in recovery from substance or alcohol misuse.
The “Looking after Me” Course for Carers
Looking After Me is a free course for adults who care for someone living with a long-term health condition or disability. As its name implies, the course is about you making time to look after your own health needs. It aims to help you to take more control of your situation and make a difference to your life.
