July Hot Topics

Abundance

Joyce Pountain from Abundance Wimbledon also told us about this special project to encourage people to pick fruit and eat it. There are many fruit trees around Wimbledon in gardens and public places, but every year a lot of fruit goes to waste.

The aim of Abundance is to help people harvest the fruit and make use of it. Volunteers are needed to harvest, distribute and process fruit. A special Wimbledon Fruit Day will be held on September 17th at St. Mark’s Church 11 –2 p.m. If you are interested in helping with this project in any of the above ways or by turning the collected fruit into jam, please email Joyce at abundancewimbledon@gmail.com or telephone Joyce..
