Hot Topics October
88 members and 5 guests attended our 3rd Anniversary meeting and enjoyed taking part in the various crafts on offer.  Thank you to Val Barnes, Margaret Brotherton, Joanna Cardwell, Eileen Smith and Julia Whiting for all their hard work and effort.

Choir
We are joining with SW19WI in a joint choir venture.  10 members have already put their names down for this.  If you would like to join – no singing experience or skills necessary, please email our Secretary wi.secretary@googlemail.com  and we will contact you.

Clubs
Please remember that we have the following Clubs available for you to join:
Monday Book Club, Tuesday Book Club, Sunday Lunch Club, Bridge (beginners and experienced players), Knit N’Natter Group, Theatre Club, Walking and finally the Wine Club.  If you would like to join any of these groups, please email our Secretary for further information.

Friendship Fund
This is a fund that Federations hold to help new WIs form and also to help those WIs in financial difficulties. Now that Wimbledon WI is in a more secure financial position, it has been agreed donate £200 to this fund.  This was the amount given to Wimbledon WI when we set up 3 years ago.

Charity Nominations
We asked for nominations for a local charity that Wimbledon WI can support next year.  If you were not present at the meeting, but wish to nominate a local charity, please email our Secretary with your suggestion and we will vote at the November meeting.

Christmas Toy Appeal
Please remember to bring your gifts to the November meeting for Kids Company. Your generosity will hopefully bring a smile to a vulnerable child this Christmas.

Christmas Cards
Packs of Christmas cards designed by 6 WI members were on sale at £3 per pack or two packs for £5.  If you were not present, but wish to buy some cards, they will be available at the November meeting.  We only have 32 packs left so if you wish to reserve yours please email Joanna contact@wimbledonwi.org.uk. If you did artwork for a card and would like it returned please see Joanna at the November meeting

Wine Trip
A Trip to the Loire, is being arranged for Wimbledon WI members and friends. The coach  will depart Wimbledon early morning on 23rd April and return to Wimbledon early evening on April 28th.   The cost includes all travel by executive coach; ferry crossings; five nights accommodation; wine tasting; sightseeing; 5 nights 3* hotel accommodation, breakfast + lunch or dinner each day, all sightseeing and wine tasting excursions;all entrances; Tour escort.
Cost £625 sharing, £750 single room.

Theatre Outings
There are a few tickets left to see The Pirates of Penzance at the Riverside studios in Hammersmith on Tuesday 17th January 7.30 £22.50. If you would like to join us please e mail Annette by Friday 28th October. Payment will need to be made by the November meeting.

Love your Libraries
Petition in support of public Libraries
We now have 69 signatures on this petition. It will be available until Dec, so if you want to support the NFWI petition, please ensure that you sign by then.

Christmas Courses at Denman
There are a number of Craft and Cookery courses at Denman College in November and December. For details call 01865 391991 info@denman.org.uk

November Meeting
Please ensure that you attend the Annual Meeting in November when a new President and Committee will be elected.   This is an important meeting and an opportunity for you all to review the past year and generally socialise.
